Who We Are

Zim Mission Project is a Christian, non-profit making organization which aid church leaders and support church projects in Zimbabwe. The aim of our initiative is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Zimbabwe especially in this season of crisis. Our approach is to equip and support church leaders and their projects. And the leaders will subsequently reach more people than we can. This is achieved by partnering with existing churches in Zimbabwe.

The strategic aim is to establish sustainable leadership which is financially stable.

Vision

“Equipping and supporting church leaders in Zimbabwe"

Mission

We convey the love of Christ to His shepherds in the field through partnership with local churches and assisting the body of Christ.

History

Zim Mission Project was founded in December 2008 by Taka and Beatrice Sande after functioning for a year as a pilot project. Taka and Beatrice were born in the city of Mutare, Zimbabwe. They grew up and were educated there and are active church leaders. Since their move to Pretoria, South Africa in 2006, the couple natured a passion for the church in Zimbabwe, which eventually gave birth to the Zim Mission Project.

James 1:27 Trust and High Calling Ministry are the major sponsors of the project. Since the foundation of this project frequent outreach trips are being taken and in March 2009 the project opened a children feeding project in Mashava (Masvingo), Zimbabwe which to date is feeding 28 children with one meal per day.

Zim Mission Project has supported and equipped church leaders in Harare, Marondera and Masvingo towns of Zimbabwe. We are looking forward to develop our ministry by enhancing our training capacity and establish a sustainable fund raising programme.

ABOUT ZIMBABWE

dasdas

The extreme economic and political crisis that besieged Zimbabwe for the past decade brought devastating effects on the nation. Inflation that soured above one billion percent per annum eroded the value of the currency and cash reserves. The impact is even overwhelming on the church. It has resulted in no or very little income to the church funds.

OUR PROJECTS

The Zim Mission Project is an evangelical, non-denominational and non-profit making project whose aim is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Zimbabwe. We achieve this by equipping and supporting church leaders. And the leaders will then reach more people than we can.

In partnership with local churches, the project focuses on:

1) Supporting church leaders,

2) Supporting local church projects and

3) Training and equipping leaders.

Supporting Church leaders involves improving the general church leaders’ welfare and establishing income generating projects for them. Local church projects comprises projects which meet the needs of church and its’ surrounding community.

We administer the scheme using the following programme;

1) Every two to four months we sent available groceries and clothes to the church leaders. The identified pastors are unrelated and are located in different areas and ministries.

2) Three to six months are spent supporting each church projects. Our aim is not to finish all the problems but to offer relief. And where possible formulate a sustainable income generating project.

We accept donations mainly in form of groceries, clothes, bibles, cash and specific project requirements (which will be indicated in the Outreach Mission Trip Reports).

We are operating through a network of sponsors. After each outreach mission trip we publish a report outlining events and achievements of the trip and mail it to our sponsors. The mailing list of sponsors consists of interested stakeholders and individuals with a passion for the project.

Chipo M, Age 11

Only four years old when her parents died, Chipo lived in multiple houses, with various family members, including her grandmother, brother, and auntie. Receiving food at the feeding scheme is a blessing to her because she is given a lot of food, compared to the two teaspoons of sadza she was given in her home before.

She has a new passion for swimming, having learned how this summer, and finds that she enjoys English because she is good at it. She has learned to share at daily devotions at the feeding scheme. Though quiet in nature, when she smiles her face beams from top to bottom and her happiness is apparent.
